OUR TEAM
HAYLEY LETHLEAN,
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
From leading our team with passion to standing up for our community's needs, Hayley wears many hats, juggling lots of tasks on a daily basis.
When she’s not reporting to the Board, she keeps a focus on our strategic goals, always seeking out new connections and ensuring our financial sustainability by making the most of what we've got.
Proud to lead a team where fun and hard work go hand in hand, she makes sure we stay flexible, resilient and creative in how we tackle opportunities and challenges, so our community needs are always met.
Oh, and outside of all that amazing work stuff? Her heart belongs to her horses, her family and her place of birth, South Africa.
BRYONY WHITWELL,
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS COORDINATOR
Bryony is our all-round events and programs superstar. Whether she’s wrangling kids at Camp, cheering on young adults at Fringe, or hosting one of our Conversations & Connections sessions, Bryony is always where the community is.
A true crime buff, she starts her day with a murder podcast and winds down with a crime doc, sneaking in an acai bowl (or three) somewhere in between.
Outside of work, her world revolves around netball – playing, coaching, umpiring, and running events at her local club. She’s also a confessed gym rat who never skips leg day and can’t resist a good hike (especially when there’s coffee at the end).
Bryony says the best part of her role is, hands down, the incredible people she gets to work with!
AMY MURPHY,
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Amy’s the master of organisation, keeping all our projects on track as Project Coordinator, no task too big, no detail too small.
Before diving into this role, she spent a year road-tripping around Australia in a camper trailer with her husband and two boys, which she calls the best adventure of her life.
Outside of work, you’ll find her cheering on her kids at sports, soaking up the beach, or lost in a good book. Known for her planning skills, Amy secretly dreams of becoming a top chef, but chocolate will always have her heart.
When she's not managing the chaos of family life, she’s plotting her next epic camping trip. If you need a plan (and maybe a little chocolate), Amy’s your go-to!
EMMA KENTON,
OPERATIONS & ENGAGEMENT MANAGER
Em's basically a human espresso shot: small in stature, but packs a serious punch of energy (and volume). Need a task tackled? Just point her in the right direction and get out of the way, she’s already halfway through it.
With a background in media and publishing, Em’s the behind-the-scenes dynamo making sure everything runs smoothly. From crafting campaigns that make our brand shine to managing fundraising events and improving our systems, Em’s the one making sure everything works like clockwork. She’s also the go-to for planning staff parties, making sure we’re all feeling connected and energised.
When she’s off the clock, Em doesn’t exactly slow down. A proud crazy cat lady, she balances mothering her fur babies with a full social calendar, always out meeting new people and staying connected. Her brain’s constantly buzzing with creative ways to engage others with our cause and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
JOSH WELLS,
SYSTEM NAVIGATOR
Josh is basically a human Swiss Army knife - handy, dependable and always ready with a dad joke (whether you asked for it or not).
With a background as an NDIS Local Area Coordinator and a long-standing connection to the our community since 2017, Josh brings both heart and know-how to his role.
When he’s not supporting members or helping families find the right services, you’ll probably find him deep in a board game battle or in his garage, happily tinkering away on his latest project. A proud dad of two, he spends his weekends either at the park chasing soccer balls or the next great pun.
Josh joined the team with one goal in mind: to give back to the community that’s close to his heart and he does it with positivity, purpose and a pocketful of wisecracks.
ABBEY COWLIN,
COMMS & FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR
Abbey’s our resident ray of sunshine and the proud cat mum of Olive (though don’t let the name fool you - she hates olives).
She brings flair, creativity and a touch of inspiration to everything from our fundraising campaigns to our social posts. Before joining us, she sharpened her skills in brand marketing at Wizard Professional Services and now channels her passion into amplifying our impact.
With 29 countries under her belt, she’s always planning her next adventure, when she’s not baking up a storm and bribing the team with brownies. Friends know her as the "baked goods queen," but we just call her our in-house Joy (yes, the Pixar one), full of optimism, energy and a gift for making people smile.
Whether she’s diving into a campaign or diving into the ocean, Abbey brings enthusiasm, warmth and just a hint of icing sugar to everything she does.
CHRISTINE BAKER,
COMMUNITY SERVICES MANAGER
A vibrant soul hailing from sunny Perth, Christine is the proud mum of four adult kids, a delightful granddaughter, and Peppa, the Schnauzer fur-princess.
Before joining the Neuromuscular WA crew, Christine was the boss at her family's optometry clinic, but her resume doesn't reveal her past lives in hospitality, horticulture, fitness, and even overseas! In her role she is all about connecting people, ideas and services to create smoother, more accessible systems, bringing her curiosity, collaborative spirit, and a belief that everyone should be part of the journey!
When not working, you'll find her hiking, sewing, or wrangling Peppa. For Christine, a well-rounded life boils down to curiosity, caffeine, and a bit of dirt under the fingernails from the garden.
KYMBERLEY RITCHIE,
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS COORDINATOR
Kymberley’s got the energy of a golden retriever and the organisational skills of a seasoned event planner. As the brains behind our kids’ programs, she’s all about creating fun, connection and unforgettable moments - think craft chaos, group giggles and the occasional glitter explosion.
When she’s not out making magic with our community, she’s at home with her two kids, husband and one very spoilt fur baby, probably whipping up homemade pasta or planning the next hiking adventure.
She’s a sucker for spring weather, a good book (that she may or may not finish) and chocolate in any form. Self-proclaimed queen of beer mat flipping, she’s also famously anti-fun run - coffee walks only, thanks. Give her a clipboard, a strong coffee and some sunshine, and she’s good to go.
CATHY DONOVAN,
BOOK KEEPER
If you hear laughter drifting through the office, chances are it’s Cath, aka “Cackles.” As our long-standing finance superstar, Cath has been the one keeping our books balanced and our budgets in check for more years than we can count (and she definitely can count them).
She’s a proud grandma through and through, spending her weekends babysitting the grandkids with a level of energy that puts the rest of us to shame. Whether she’s chasing toddlers around the park or making them laugh with her stories, her role as ‘Nanna Cath’ is clearly one of her favourites.
When she does get a rare moment to herself, you’ll find her catching up with friends over a wine or an espresso martini (or both). With a heart as big as her laugh and a head full of wisdom, Cath is the kind of person every workplace dreams of - reliable, kind and just the right amount of cheeky. We don’t know how we’d function without her… and luckily, we don’t have to.
