Volunteer your time & skills

We’re pretty lucky to have some regulars who volunteer their time and services to our community (and we appreciate them so much).

But we always need extra help so maybe you can get involved.

There are so many ways your time and skills could make a big difference - from helping our Community Services Team with social programs, lending your time and energy to a fundraising event or assisting us in the office. Volunteers simply make our world go round.

Please fill in our Volunteer Application Form to register your interest.

Volunteering for our community services team

Our Community Services Team coordinate a number of different programs for various age groups. One area where we always require extra volunteer support is our school-aged programs (such as Camp and our School Holiday Programs), which you can find out more about here.

If you would like to help at our community events that include children, it is essential that volunteers hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Clearance. Both are valid for 3 years and you will be reimbursed the costs of attaining them. Neuromuscular WA can also apply for a Police Clearance on your behalf, we just need to sight relevant ID. Providing a current COVID vaccination status is no longer mandated, however, in support of our immune-compromised community, we do encourage you to be vaccinated if you would like to volunteer.

Please note that our School Holiday Program and Camp are designed as a respite opportunity for the camper and their parents, so parents are unable to apply to volunteer for our Community Services Team. We welcome parents to help our Fundraising Team, so please reach out to Abbey if you are interested.

STUDENTS SEEKING PLACEMENT

We rely heavily on volunteers and do our best to give regular opportunity to approved volunteers. We accept student volunteers on a case by case basis. Please get in touch to discuss your placement requirements.
