Our mission
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people living with neuromuscular conditions in WA and to be the first choice for support and services. We want to be known for supporting everyone impacted by a neuromuscular condition in WA, who needs us.
We are a small team who currently deliver Support for Life to around 700 people in our community, providing practical help that extends beyond medicine that complements our other goal of funding relevant research.
We believe that having a disability affects every aspect of life, not just health so our aim is to advocate for our community and to deliver a service model that links them with appropriate personalised services and support beyond medicine. This allows them to participate on a level playing field with equal opportunities in all areas of everyday life.
We strive to raise awareness of neuromuscular conditions, their impact on those living with them and their families, and also to educate the general public on access and inclusion.
Our role is to fill the gaps and at the end of the day, our biggest hope is that one day a cure will be found and we will no longer need to exist, but until that happens we will continue to support our members throughout their life, when they need it.
